                  East Riddlesden Hall

                  We arose to a beautiful late September's day. Not wishing to waste it we decided to visit East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley, about ninety minutes drive from Holmfirth. This is a fine example of a small Yorkshire manor house and garden, though nowadays it is surrounded by residential development.

                    We drove to Grimsby, a town I last visited when I was 14 years old in order to attend the marriage of John and Helena (a Russian friend of Irina's). As if on cue the rain came down the minute we arrived at the registry office.
