"After years of careful planning, work began in summer 2005 on a challenging £15.15m programme to restore and develop this magnificent estate which was in danger of being lost. After over 50 years of divided ownership, neglect and under-funding, many of the buildings and designed landscape features have fallen into disrepair and dereliction. Now we can begin to restore the site to its former glory." - Wentworth Castle Gardens
