Claude Monet's Garden, Giverny
Giverny, Vernon, Normandy, France
Sunday, 17 June, 2007
"In 1893 Claude Monet bought this piece of land, then separated from the Clos Normand by the little railway line and the Chemin du Roy (the "King's Way").
Obtaining official permission to dig his ponds was a long and difficult business, but by 1895 Monet was able to build the elegantly ornate Japanese Bridge, now entirely restored." - The Claude Monet Foundation
