Description

Bugsworth Basin is a Scheduled Ancient Monument with information boards providing an insight into the industrial archaeology of the 14 mile long Peak Forest Canal.

Notes

On our way to the western edges of the Peak District National Park we have often driven through Whaley Bridge. Each time we have glanced the narrow boats which line the Peak Forest Canal as it runs parallel to the main road, and each time we have promised to return. Today we finally fulfilled our promise.
